Abstract
The solutions journalism is a journalistic concept imported from the American newsrooms. It raised in the French local press since 2015. This professional approach, which has arrived in local newsrooms by the will of the press groups leaders, tends to modify the representations, the practices and the professional identity of local journalists. Indeed, under cover of a rewarding rhetoric focused on investigating and strengthening proximity with readership, the solutions journalism allows the acceptance of practices from other services such as marketing and communication. It is perceived as a “solutionˮ to the decline of the journalists statut within their own press group but also as a means to stem the decline in incomes. It then reinforces the blurred lines of the local journalists professional identity.
