Abstract
The literature specific to the field of arts and literature frequently uses the word style to name certain homogeneous sets of works and authors, which necessarily assume the existence of certain classification practices which do not recognise the diversity of each subject. The aim of the work is to take over the discussions and ambiguity created around it and some examples of its imprecise use by some authors, in order to consider a resignificance of the word style from one of the aspects of its ethymology, in order to incorporate into the methodology of visual language teaching a significant application of it, emphasising the development of the subjectivity of individuals, overcoming the restrictions on social groups, temporal development, geographical location, economic situation, etc., in which the wealth that protects the identity of each individual is omitted or downgraded.
