Abstract
This article proposes an analytical approach to the object book Mirador: Visions on extractivism. Ecuador 2000-2017, which brings together a series of archives, images and testimonies about the mining activity in the country and its different levels of social resistance. This work is a collaborative exercise between Sofía Acosta, Adrián Balseca, and takes as a study period the ten years of government of former President Rafael Correa, who during his tenure activated a series of mining operations in ecologically sensitive sectors and deepened a development perspective based on the exploitation of natural resources.
