Abstract
Adjacent to the migration of Japanese-Brazilians, movement called decasségui, started in the mid 1980s, their children, born in that country or in Brazil and who migrated at an early age, live the challenges of schooling, which can occur in Japanese public schools or in Brazilian private schools in Japan. According to the experience of schooling, language acquisition, plans for the future, constitution of identity and belonging present specific issues in these cases. This article presents data obtained from 2012 to 2015 through the development of a Project in schools in Japan. It appears that the type of school influences language acquisition, changing the possibilities of access to higher education, and, in both cases, young people identify with Japan. Using psychoanalytic theory and migratory studies, we can see that the process will result in the subjective, social and identity implications of these young people.
