Human activity and conceptualisation: Questions

Abstract

This book is a first critical presentation of the entire work of Gérard Vergnaud, an internationally recognised researcher for his work in cognitive and developmental psychology and his role in teaching mathematics and science. This book brings together contributions from people who have worked with him and from scientists who are invited to take a critical look at his work. In two original texts, Gérard Vergnaud gave his inspiration and returned to key topics: conceptualisation, reference theory, truth and relevance. This book will be aimed at all those (psychologists, ergonomists, educators, trainers, pedagogues) concerned by the problems of education, training and analysis of work, as well as those interested in changing ideas in the field of cognitive sciences, in particular psychology of learning and skills development.
