Abstract
The volume presents the results of the research carried out by the author during the three years of the Doctorate in ‘Progettazione paesistica’ in Florence. The first part of the work focuses on the theoretical and methodological aspects of the study of the agricultural landscape and the description of its components, its training processes and the evolution of its structure. The second part is a practical application of the findings, with the original drafting of reports giving rise to the various types of agricultural landscapes, according to which it is now possible to articulate the Roman campaign. To sum up, research has sought to link a knowledge model relating to the agricultural landscape with a special territorial framework rich in emblematic landscape situations, with the aim of testing the feasibility of applying the interpretation keys identified and proposed, and of reassessing the role of the agricultural landscape in the current process of restoring environmental and paedical damage.
