Landscapes in perspective

Abstract

Longtime as an observer’s view on nature, the landscape has nowadays become the sensitive point of our living environments. As part of our heightened modernity, it gives rise to opportunities that go beyond mere aesthetic emotion and which rather inform the major issues of spatial planning in Quebec. This book is directly relevant to this issue and provides an analysis of the main challenges facing landscape and environmental specialists. The contributions of the authors present a contemporary concept of the landscape, both open and multiple. Every reflection expresses the need to design the landscape as a collective good of a society which itself needs to ensure its development and invention through a wide range of perspectives and projects.
