Studied psychological variables associated with longevity. Human subjects: 63 male French adults (54-65 yrs) (prisoners of war during World War II). All Ss completed a battery of psychological tests, and psychological profiles of 16 Ss who died within 3 yrs of testing were compared to those of the surviving Ss. Tests used: The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) (1955), L. Bender's Visual Motor Gestalt Test, the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), R. Benton's Visual Memory Test, and the Cattell Anxiety Scale.
