Abstract
This study concerns the use of the SDC (Studio Digital Collaborative) mechanism in a collaborative architectural design pedagogical project. From a semicotic perspective, we are studying the functioning of media communication in project-based training workshops. In these workshops, managers monitor the progress of the project on the architectural design of students through the weekly document proofreading sessions. For example, we focus on the role of the operator — here one of the collaborating teams — taking the view of the Semiotic of Practices (J. Fontanille, Semiotic Practices, Paris, PUF, 2008). A disruption in students’ collaborative activity during the workshop is at the heart of our discussion and will allow us to question the issue of ownership, disownership and re-ownership of remote and simultaneous practice. This disruption will also enable us to enhance the role of the operator in managing a equipped collaborative activity that is being carried out.
