The forest is for many people a place for relaxation and escape. In Wallonia, attendance is particularly important in some forest areas, but there is little data to characterise recreational activities in Wallonia. A telephone survey of 1005 people was carried out in April 2005 to find out what proportion of the population of Wallonia and Brussels claims to use forests for relaxation and to best characterise this population.
