Joint and several leave or the usefulness of the trip

Abstract

The solidarity trip has a hallmark and has been able to walk to the human resources departments of large private and public companies. Some even encourage their employees to become volunteer co-workers during their annual holidays, including funding. And more than one answer to the call. The simple leisure journey no longer seems to be sufficient for some citizens in the North to be uncomfortable in view of the uneven distribution of revenues from tourism activities in developing countries. Engagement and openness are on the agenda, while travel as a leak, forgotten and real world movement, as celebration of insucious hedonism, seems no longer appropriate for everyone. Result: more and more travel agencies and international cooperation organisations offer different ways to travel and discover the world. While holiday normally refers to a period during which a person ceases to work in order to make tourism, solidarity leave is all but holidays in the strict sense. “Solidarity leave is based on the individual’s willingness to take things forward, to participate in the fight against poverty by sharing knowledge and knowledge. People who sign up to the programme are shocked by poverty around the world, they want to do something, be useful! ” adds S. Matte. Uniterra is working concretely on developing the skills of people working in local HIV/AIDS organisations, women literacy, health centres, schools and many cooperative and voluntary companies.
