Abstract
This article presents a thematic inventory of research writings on social work in French language minority contexts since the 1990s and aims to stimulate reflections on the relation between research and French language minority communities in Canada. The description of the research themes shows the dynamic nature of this research, its diversity, and its stronger interest in certain themes such as health, and intervention with women and immigrants. It also shows some areas in which this research is strikingly silent, notably in regards to institutional social work settings and to Indigenous Peoples. These results can be explained particularly by the structuration of French language minority communities and by the research conditions within them. As well, they also allow for some suggestions about research themes for the future.
