Health survey 2010, 2011

Abstract

Sinfs 1981 is being carried out by CBS on a continuous basis. From 1997 to 2009, the survey was part of the Permanent Study on Human Situation (pols), as the Health module. As of 2010, the Health Survey will be carried out again as a stand-alone study. The survey provides the fullest possible overview of developments in health, medical contact, lifestyle and preventive behaviour of the population in the Netherlands. The target population consists, for the majority of subjects, of persons aged 0 and over in private households in the Netherlands. Some subjects are subject to a separate age limit. The health survey starts with a short basic questionnaire (basic questionnaire Questions and diagrams). This questionnaire mainly contains questions on background characteristics of the respondents. Following the basic questionnaire, respondents will receive part 1 of the Health Survey (Health Survey Questions and Registers CATI/CAPI). This questionnaire mainly contains questions on: • Medical contacts and use of care (contact with general practitioner, specialist, dentist, alternative cure, physiotherapist, hospitalisation, contact with social work and mental health care). Medication, home care and care abroad)• Care, birth, birth weight, breastfeeding• Children’s health (oa. Long-term disorders in children, ADHD)• General health (oa long-term illness or disorders, obstacles, bed days)• Restrictions according to the ADL (General Daily Life Activities) indicator• Current sickness insurance• Time use and current education• Length and weight• Role follow-up module Beyond part 1 of the Health Survey, a follow-up module will be provided to respondents aged 12 or over (Health Survey 2010 and 2011). This questionnaire contains questions on: • Limitations in hearing, vision, movement• Obstacles in daily activities due to health problem, pain, emotional problem• Differences (e.g. happy, energy, somber, anxiety)• Devices (e.g. stick, prosthesis)• Long-term disorders in people aged 12 or over• Use of alcohol and drugs• Infectious diseases in people aged 12 or over• Population screening• As from 2010, the net sample size is approximately 15 000 persons per year. The annual response shall be between 60 % and 65 %. Of these, around 55 % also respond to the additional questionnaire for persons aged 12 and over.
