The engagement of treatment with a schizophrene patient faces the threat to my integrite of any investment in objects. There is a need for constant stress on the part of the heater, which is akin to a sewing company. Thus, when that first stage is overcome, the transfer which takes place is, by its very nature, erotomaniac, in the sense that the patient lives either as chosen by the object, without having to determine whether or not he invests the object. This transfer may be regarded as equivalent to the basic transfer to psychotic patients. Its configuration is discussed in relation to certain characteristics of the relationship with the primary object.
