The Bresilian litterature shows us another mapping of the country, redesigned by ‘the fable of the place’, which presupposes a cross-section from the regional to the national and transnational. While the regional, with a hint, is essentially nativism, folklore and pittoresque, the other, it stifles man and land, while turning into a ‘provincial town’. Of this, the regional region would be one of the figures of the current comparatism.
