This paper deals with the predation of human and natural resources in various places of the planet. Drawing on two geographically remote examples, Brazil and Indonesia. We shall describe production linked social relationships within a framework of market debt, characterized by the exploitation of a vulnerable workforce resulting in the destruction of a natural environment. We shall previously attempt to discuss the theoretical relevance of the concept of “ecological debt” in determining responsibility for ecological disasters.
