Abstract
The article focuses on the first chapters of the novel “Confessions of an Italian of Ippolito Nievo”, corresponding to the childhood of the two protagonists, Carlino and Pisana. The story of love between the two cousins began in these first years, and the novelty in describing it is exceptionally open and undisturbed. Following a thematic approach (in the certainty that an amorphous discourse can proceed only by fragments), we tried to connect the passages of the novel relating to the first manifestations of eros with amorphous theory of different times and currents, in order to demonstrate the extraordinary modernity of the Nievo novel.
