The attack by the Islamic State organisation in Turkey on 20 July 2015 put an end to the de facto understanding between the organisation and Ankara. The government allowed the US to use the Inçirlik base for military actions against the OEI in Syria and its forces participated in strikes on its neighbour. Will the Turkish government reshaped its strategy until then by its hatred from the Syrian regime and the fear that the Kurds would benefit from chaos? Can it give Kurds the place they ask for or will war on two fronts as it seems to be engaged?
