Análisis de propuestas para el alojamiento temporal y permanente de refugiados en la ciudad de Valencia

Abstract

[EN]The world today faces the biggest refugee crisis since World War II, reaching its record in 2016 with 65.5 million people displaced, both inside and outside the borders of their countries. In the Refugee Convention in Geneva(1951) it was stated that a refugee is someone who “due to well-founded fears of being persecuted for reasons of race, religion, nationality, belonging to a certain social group or political opinions is outside the country of his nationality and cannot or, because of such fears, does not want to benefit from the protection of such a country “. Upon arriving in our country, refugees must undergo an integration process that is influenced by different socio-economic and political factors. One of the main aspects that facilitates this process is access to decent housing, from which to undertake all the other challenges of assimilating a new culture. However, this process is not always easy, and is often marked by comings and goings, and precarious conditions. Given this situation, architects and urban planners have come up with innovative proposals, which aim to facilitate the adaptation process and offer a new look at the refugee crisis, generating more resilient and humane cities.
