Abstract
[EN] The trace of the Islamic civilisation still remains in many aspects of our culture: from the irrigation networks, the toponymy and the gastronomy, to the city planning and the architecture. Mainly in the Mediterranean coast, many population centers originated in a small group of houses called alqaríyya or farmhouse, which exploited the farmland around it. This is the case of the small town of Benavites, located in Valle de Segó, north of Valencia. The objective is to thoroughly study the history of the place to formalize a hypothetical reconstruction of its urban layout from its possible origin as an Islamic farmhouse to the current features, passing through the different intermediate stages. The small size of this urban nucleus makes it feasible to elaborate a kind of stratigraphic study on an urban scale. The intention of the graphic representation is to be a real-life depiction based on historical documentary sources, starting from urban analysis and comparative studies with other populations whose origins are similar. The investigation has the support of the current Historian of the town. TFGM
