The pictorial cycle of the Dorada gallery (Palau Ducal — Gandy), as a museological project: Conservation and restoration didactic

Abstract

[EN] The places destined for the exhibition of the pieces of work of art offer, in their majority, information that orients the spectators about the origin of the pieces of work and reference of the artist or of the aesthetic and plastic resources that the piece has used. In rare cases, restorative processes have been carried out so that the pieces are exposed in the same condition as they have been obtained, and the necessary aspects for their correct future conservation taken into consideration. In this research, an analysis of the main museological and museographic didactics throughout history has been carried out, in order for the ideas to be brought closer to the field of conservation and restoration of paint on canvas, in sequence to achieve an effective learning and a pleasant educational experience. Specifically, the implementation of a training methodology already tested in other pedagogical areas has been projected, in order to improve the visitor's experience of the exhibition regarding space perception of large-format canvas paintings, located on the roof of the Dorada Gallery of the Palau Ducal of Gandia in Valencia. In terms of the tools and techniques used, the ones implied (among others), are the application of prototypes and sociometric studies of the adaptation of these museographic resources, evaluating their suitability and pedagogical effectiveness. The aim is to capture the importance of the conservation of the pieces of work, this being an initiative that would bring the restoration and the conservation of the heritage closer to the areas of social importance that are not relevant nowadays.
