[EN] There is no doubt that Computer-Assisted Language Learning has undergone profound changes since its emergence last century and has accelerated its development in line with technological advances in recent years. Such has been the transformation that some authors have announced its disappearance as field for discussion. This article gives a brief overview of its evolution and examines the relationship between technology and foreign language teaching methodology. It also investigates the current trends ¿mobile learning and personal learning environments applied to language learning- and reflects on possible lines of development in the near future. Attwell, G. [ES] Es indudable que la enseñanza de lenguas asistida por ordenador ha sufrido profundos cambios desde su aparición el siglo pasado, acelerando su evolución en los últimos años de manera acorde con los avances tecnológicos. Tal ha sido esta transformación que algunos autores han anunciado su desaparición como disciplina. En este artículo se revisa su evolución, así como la relación entre tecnología y metodología en la enseñanza de lenguas extranjeras. Asimismo, se estudian las tendencias actuales principales -el aprendizaje móvil y los entornos personales de aprendizaje aplicados a la enseñanza de idiomas- y se reflexiona sobre las posibles líneas de evolución en el futuro cercano.
