Abstract
Lucia Moholy, as an artist, art critic and historian struggled much in her life to ensure her place in history of photography. She often had a little recognition for her individual work and has been overshadowed by the reputation of her husband, László Moholy-Nagy. Today she should be recognized for his personal role in photography, in its practical side as well as in theory. Moholy was a pioneer and played an important role in the course of the discipline. Both for providing a personal point of view in her own photographic work, and for her work in developing the so-called experimental photography. Moreover, she made a huge and almost anonymous work of documentation and was commissioned to photograph the architecture and designs of the Bauhaus, creating an important photographic archive for the institution.
