Abstract
[EN] This paper describes a proposed conflict prevention methodology that can be applied during the project, bidding and contract phases of a construction project. According to the evaluation and validation results given by the experts, the methodology proves to be an effective conflict prevention tool under the criteria of feasibility, impact, investment and innovation. Therefore, it¿s use encourages companies from the construction industry to improve strategic relationships and alliances, to seek out and obtain a better market position and improve productivity with projects; all of this with the participation of the main agents of the construction industry which are already involved in the prior phases of the execution of the works. After the methodology validation phase, a case of road rehabilitation work in Mexico was studied by applying the proposed methodology, in which the main critical points of future conflicts in the project were assessed. The results showed that a lack of planning and allocation of sufficient time was its most noticeable weakness.
