Abstract

This article contains the main results of a research project on representations, expectations and life strategies of young rural women in Morocco. Starting from the polysemia of the youth category, the narratives of these women address issues such as what it means for them to be young, that they perceive relationships between the sexes, how they perceive their situation in a context of poverty or what strategies they see to improve their situation. Far from a monolytic image of rural women, a variety of positions reflected in a rural world undergoing profound social change are rescued.
