[EN] The present text is an introduction to the special issue in contemporary archaeology from an Iberian perspective, which puts emphasis on two common themes: political violence and the transformation of the rural world. This issue is understood as an invitation to dialogue and collaboration between archaeologists working in southern Europe and in South America, which suffered historical processes similar in many ways
