The subject of this work, the distillation of rose water, has so far been little studied. In this work, various distillation techniques are analysed on the basis of texts from hispano-Muslim authors, two of which are agronomic treatments and one of a medico-pharmacological nature. The detailed process followed by these authors highlights, in some specific cases, specific elements of Al-Andalus and, ultimately, the importance of the perfume distillation industry.
