Abstract
, associated with the microfinance and development aid sectors, International Development Desgarins (DID), is a component of the Desgarins Movement specialising, inter alia, in the management of projects related to Community finance and providing technical support and investment services in some 27 developing and emerging countries around the world, Africa, Latin America, the Antilles, Asia, Central and Eastern Europe. By choosing this observation area, this thesis relates to the management of institutional communication, one of the fields of public communication, in a complex organisation of a cooperative and international nature. In doing so, it draws on the four courses of study: institutional communication, organisational culture, corporate social responsibility and management of social issues and development communication. We have therefore been committed to characterising its communication approach aimed at promoting a Quebec cooperative formula at international level, and to assessing the importance of certain DID strategic comlTIunication activities between 1970 and 2008, by analysing the means of communication used, the target audiences, the messages intended to be disseminated and the communication objectives sought by DID. We have also put forward various proposals for the institutional communication project of an organisation of a cooperative nature working in the financial field and contributing to the management of an important social challenge at international level, namely development, in some emerging countries or in economic transition around the world.
