Breast is the painful condition resulting from the punishment of love. In northern Tolima, this feeling exists in intimate relationships between people, their bodies and nature; relations which are particularly evident when considering reciprocity between the breast and the Tragedia de Armero. In this article, this correspondence is taken as a basis for deepening the understanding of breast in dialogue with three types of sources: the paradigm of incorporation, the teeth for loving, frequently consulted in the north of Tolima, and the breast songs heard in the region. Given this approach, it is possible to discuss the preliminary characteristics of breast and to locate epistemological alliances between brushery and anthropology.
