Intertextualidade e transcrição musical: novas possibilidades a partir de antigas propostas

Abstract

This article discusses Edelton Gloeden’s transcription for two guitars of the Peça para piano n. 4 (piece for piano n. 4) by Gilberto Mendes (1922), originally composed for solo piano. The transcription was premiered in 1990 at the Museu da Imagem e do Som, by Edelton Gloeden and Victor Castellano and, after that, performed again by the authors of this article. The composer was present in both concerts and personally approved the transcription. This article brings also some historical data on musical transcription techniques, a recurring practice in the classical guitar repertory.
