Abstract
Desvela the relationships between truth, post-truth and information with a view to designing information hypertrophy in Information Science. It uses as a methodological input the exploratory research, literature and conceptual analysis of Walker and Avant as a way to answer the questions: what is information hypertrophy? What are their characteristics and implications for an information society? The objectives are as follows: create a concept for Information Science of hypertrophy of information and analyse its relationship with truth and post-truth. The analysis shows that the hypertrophy of information is closely linked to post-truth and fake news, to what has been noted in fact-cheking pages that tally with the concept, demonstrating its consistency with the topic.
