Abstract
In a context where the restriction to international migration is increasing globally and security criteria permeate the formulation of migration policies worldwide, Argentina has seen, since 2003, a different way of tackling this phenomenon, which in turn leaves behind three decades of irrational migration policies in the country. This analysis of the change in direction of Argentinian migration policy has been drawn up in particular in the light of the new national migration dynamics, defined by the predominance of immigration from neighbouring countries, as well as the evolution of this phenomenon at global level and the general approach underpinning the policies of the main recipient countries in the world.
