El objetivo del presente trabajo de investigación es responder a la pregunta que se plantea en el título, es decir, cuestionar el respeto a la libre competencia y la garantía de una competitividad con igualdad de trato institucional en el seno de las instituciones europeas. La metodología utilizada es la propia de un estudio comparativo de casos en el ámbito de la administración y dirección de empresas y en un marco institucional, tanto desde una aproximación o enfoque económico empresarial financiero como desde uno institucional público. Por medio de estos instrumentos hemos pretendido deducir los factores comunes presentes en los tres casos estudiados, que podrían abonar o sustentar nuestras hipótesis iniciales. Las conclusiones obtenidas corroboran esas hipótesis respecto al papel de los países dirigentes de la UE en defensa de sus economías líderes mediante la protección de sus empresas punteras, en detrimento de otras extranjeras y miembros de la Unión. English Nationalist Business Protectionism in the European Union?: Comparative Analysis of Three Cases of Spanish Companies in European Competition». The objective of this research is to answer the question posed in the title, that is to say, to dispute respect both to free competition and to assurance competitiveness and a equal institutional treatment within the European institutions. The methodology used is typical of a comparative case study in the field of business management and within an institutional framework, both from an economic and financial approach and an institutional public one. Using these tools we have tried to deduce the common factors present in the three cases studied, which could support our initial hypothesis. The conclusions corroborate these hypotheses regarding the role of the leaders of the EU countries to defend their leading economies by protecting its leading companies, to the detriment of other foreign and members of the Union one.
