The debate around the mymesis in the Republic of Platon and in Aristotle’s poetic

Abstract

This article seeks to analyse the concept of mymesis in both the platonic philosophy, especially from La Republica, and throughout Aristotle’s poetic. In view of this, the aim is to confront the two approaches in order to rescue certain aspects of each other and to propose a specific vision that takes over the conception of art and beauty of the school tradition, especially the reading made by the philosopher Jacques Maritain, which is a sort of synthesis to the conception of the authors of ancient Greece.
