Prevention of violence against women: challenges in intersectoral networking

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to highlight the importance of intersectionality in preventing violence against women through the articulation of different social actors concerned and committed to the reduction of rates of violence against women and hence a fairer and more equal society. These challenges in linking the network of services to protect women in domestic violence will be illustrated by the speeches of social welfare policy managers, women’s policy coordinators and professionals working in Women’s Reference Centres, Social Assistance Reference Centres (CRAs) and the Centre for Specialised Reference for Social Assistance (CREAS) in municipalities of the State of Rio Grande do Sul.
