Abstract
With this work, we intend to contribute to the reflection on the impact of the re-significance of spatiality in the geographical analysis categories, with particular emphasis on the geographical area and territoriality. To this end, we examine, first of all, the growing eclecticism of ‘geographical space’ in the various strands of thought co-existing in the geographical discipline that can be described as ‘multi-paradigmatic’. We also reflect on the effect of the rescaling of the main analytical categories, paying particular attention to the upgrading of the territory as a human construction. An example of this analytical category of fundamental importance to geography is provided, examining the complex coexistence of territories that generates economic usufruct in areas shared by actors with different meanings of exploiting resources.
