Abstract
The article presents the results of a research project aimed at examining three clothes belonging to the UNIVALI Modateca acquis, made by Costureiro Catarinense Galdino Lenzi for Miss Brusque and Santa Catarina in 1976. For carrying out the investigations, specific methodology was used to analyse historical documents in the field of material culture, as proposed by Sant’Anna et. al. (2009). Considering these garments as objects/documents, the observations made have made it possible to understand certain cultural, social and historical aspects of a period and region, as well as the assessment of techniques used in the manufacture of fashion products in the 1970s, allowing access to information enabling the development of new fashion design products.
