Abstract
The university extension, together with teaching and research, are pillars of the university. The Lutas Extension Project – Judô is one of the extension actions developed at the School of Physical Education, Physiotherapy and Ocupacional Terapia (EEFFTO) of the Federal University of Minas Gerais. The purpose of this field study was to identify and describe the perception of Jewish practitioners towards Kazoku Dojô, the name given to the training space. The analysis was descriptive from the theoretical benchmark of occupation and leisure. The results showed that the participants started the activities in the project with the expectation of learning a new struggle, but throughout their stay they saw it as a place of reception and belonging.
