Abstract
This comment seeks to show how Carlos Fuentes’ Gotic novelty works in ‘Vlad’ (2004), and to underline the role played by the incorporation of folklore into the genus of the genus, by allowing old stories to take up life in the 21st century, a time that is different from the original one. The above is achieved in this brief novel by incorporating three main elements into the account: the mythical character of the vampire, the space of the Castle and the representation of the act of conveying and remembering those legendary and fantasmagic stories of the past.
