Abstract
This article highlights the analysis of conflicts and violence in educational establishments, and their educational and social consequences, making a theoretical approach both to the violence arising from school conflict and to the dynamics that, at family, social and educational levels, are generated. The fact that the problem of school violence has repercussions and raises concerns at all levels of our societies can be seen both in the institutional treatment it is undergoing and in the investigations into it being carried out from various angles. However, it would be counterproductive to give the temptation to feed what has been called ‘social alarm’ considering that violent attitudes and behaviour in schools are widespread. Therefore, the current situation, while recognising its worrying features, allows the treatment and resolution of violent conflicts still to be carried out through essentially educational and non-repressive measures, and without the need to overwhelm school boundaries.
