Power relations in patriarchal society

Abstract

On a daily basis, we listen to and talk about power relations, but when it comes to deepening the concept in fact little has been studied, so this article reviews from macro – public life – to micro – private – with the aim of drawing up a proposal on how this concept can be understood. A number of proposals are analysed, such as those put forward by the theories of the exchange, as well as that of Clara Coria that women exercise hidden power in patriarchal society, which is the other side of the coin of legitimate power exercised by men. Specifically, it is a question of opening a path to analyse these relationships from feminist theory, of the construction of a society in which people, regardless of their gender/gender, have the opportunity to build their life project freely, without prejudice and stereotypes that limit their fields of realisation.
