“As the future Koreans, it’s all round. Like a tower’. Contributions to the bottom-up history of the Personal Car Fab in Żerania.’

Abstract

The article is based on studies (conricerca) carried out at the Fabrek of Personal Cars in Żerania. A total of seventeen discussions took place on the reality of factory life and the worldview of the workers and workers surveyed. This text presents extracts from interviews on political developments in Poland in the early 1980s and 1990s. They have been developed and broken down thematically. The main aim of the author of the text is to present a working narrative about the collapse of the so-called real socialism in Poland and the impact it has had on the fate of the factory. A significant part of the work was devoted to the issue of the takeover of the business by the Korean Daewoo group. This has largely affected the fate of the factory. It was not indifferent to FSO employees, as evidenced by the numerous voices of workers gathered in that article. The method used by the author of the conricerc was developed on the basis of an operaistic thought to study the Italian working class in the second half of the xx century. It assumes that joint research with workers’ class representatives is conditional on the personal participation of workers and workers. Research should seek to overcome a rigid opposition researcher-testing towards an approach whereby researchers are simultaneously investigated and researchers.
