Abstract
The city is studied by different disciplines, one of which is the film narrative. Through cinema we can visit cities and discover their identities due to the social representations that the film story broadcasts. In addition, cinema is a highly spatial art that lends itself to narrative analysis of its constituent elements. In this way, with the aim of raising awareness of how cities are reporting from film speech, a methodology of philosophical analysis has been designed in trialogue that explores the stories from the perspectives: iconic, oral and actancial. This methodology has been applied to the filme Blue Jasmine (2013) by Woody Allen, as two cities are represented in it: New York and San Francisco. The analytical results reflect the narratives of each of the urban centres represented and the different narrative strategies used by the director to film cities.
