Abstract
A series of metal findings of ornamental material resulting from archaeological excavations at the medieval site of Ermita Virgen de la Torre (Madrid) are analysed, as well as four unprecedented pieces of the National Archaeological Museum. The article specifically addresses the historical and cultural contextualisation of the para-heraldic goldbelt plates that would relate to Christian cultural parameters (positive connotation of the animals and objects represented, ‘scutulated’ cloths), and which would contrast with the decorative habits of the Andalusian world between the XII-XIII centuries.
