Abstract
Засновник Slavic Studies at the University of Moscow, a scientist, teacher Y. M. Bodiansky was simultaneously a translator, secretary, and then publisher of the Moscow Society of History and Antiquities of Russian. One of the important elements of his popularizing activity was the creation of a Slavic educational library - a fundamental book base for Slavic studies at Moscow University, stored in the Department of Liquid Books and Manuscripts of the Scientific Library of the Moscow State University. The library of J. M. Bodiansky is a unique cultural monument, which contains the most important for its time publication, revealing the composition of the spiritual culture of Poland, the Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia and other Slavic countries.
