Brinquedotheques in different contexts: contemporary perspectives for the training of educators

Abstract

In Brazil, depending on the privatisation of the public places of play, the way of life of the Brazilian population, urban violence and the ways in which children are socialised, discussions on toys have become more prominent in a number of sectors: in the midday, in education, psychology and study in the leisure area. The issue of play for children of diverse cultures, both in urban and rural areas, has been the subject of a study of the sociology and history of childhood and are still recent in the courses of Pedagogy and Bachelor’s degree in Brazil. These studies have sought to understand the dynamics of modern societies on the basis of historical, political, social and cultural analyses of childhood users. The aim of this work is to analyse, in academic productions on toys in different contexts, the training, performance and working conditions of educators active in school toys, hospitals, communities, indigenous people, settlements and universities. This research is qualitative and the methodological procedure adopted was the literature review of the theoretical production of the toy field in different contexts. In this review of academic productions, it is possible to see how these toys have specific features, common and diverse aspects that need to be presented and discussed since the training of acquirers, the training of educators who wish to operate in these environments and the play practices implemented. ABSTRACT In Brazil, due to the privatisation of public spaces of playing, the way of life of the Brazilian population, the urban violence and the ways of children socialisation, discussions on toy rooms have pursued in severe sectors: media, education, Psychology and Scholars in the area of invalidity. The question of the playfulness for children of diverse cultures, both from urban and rural areas, have been a sociology and historiography of childminding object of study and it is still recent in Pedagogy and in Undergraduate courses in Brazil. These studies have been drawn to understand the dynamics of modern societies based on analysis of historical, political, social and cultural issues on the places of childminding. The objective of this work is to analogue, in academic productions about toy rooms in different Contexts, training, operations and working condition of teachers who work in toy rooms in schools, Hospitals, indigenous communities, settlements and freedoms. This research is qualified and the methodological procedure adopted was the review of theoretical production in the field of toy rooms in different Contexts. In this review of the academic production, it is possible to include how these rooms have specific, common and different aspects that need to be presented and discussed, following the formation of the Collections, training of educators who wish to work in these Environments and playful practices implemented.
