Microfranchising: an inclusive form of tourism business for Guajira, Colombia

Abstract

The article aims to analyse the relationship between inclusive businesses (NI) and micro-franchises from the opportunities and challenges faced by Guajira to engage in tourism entrepreneurship. For this analysis, a comparative descriptive analysis with non-experimental, cross-field design was considered. A questionnaire of 25 items was applied to 147 subjects, the validity of which was approved by experts in the area, while its consistency resulted in a Cronbach Alfa of 0,761. The results determined that NI and micro-franchises are strongly associated, 873 * *. The conclusions highlight the feasibility of the NI type as suppliers, distributors or producers, while the NI type as business partners or allies to a lesser extent. In terms of challenges, the focus is on public policies for business development and access to corporate finance plans. From the point of view of the advantages, tourism is the key to ensuring that NONs in the form of microfranchising are involved in the Guajira region. However, it is necessary to address them by means of measures that make them more efficient and effective. To this end, there are a number of suggestions that help to go beyond them with the support of all. The study is very useful for academic researchers in the business and tourism sector by allowing discussions on the microfranchise model as a viable scheme to minimise people’s poverty conditions at the base of the pyramid.
