PURE POETRY, AUTOBIOGRAPHY AND AUTOFICTION IN MANUEL FLAG

Abstract

This article aims to discover, in particular, applications for the concepts of autobiography and self-fiction, respectively, presented in literary critics of writers Philippe Lejeune and Serge Doubrovsky, from reading the literary biography of Manuel Bandeira, Pasárgada Route (1967). According to the critics in question, in order for their respective concepts to be applied, there must be a coincidence between author, narrative and character. A contract is established. We therefore believe that all biography, being an artistic language, would be tantamount to the reality, by forgetting them, deletions and omissions. The possibility of cutting would then make self-fiction of all autobiography. On the Pasárgada Route, we find a coincidence between author, narrative and character, a biography, which in principle has a commitment to the truth, to the real, but which is adjected by a fictitious element: by Pasargada. Pasárgada route from Manuel Bandeira is considered to be the first strictly literary biography published in Brazil. Yet (real) literary biography (fiction)? “I – poetic” comes through the perception of the reader who finds inconsistencies, loopholes in a possible reality. Was it really simple, pessimistic and sick? Or do your wordings, regardless of whether such data is real or not, appear to be penetrating, sublimes in their simplicity? Often, due to the impossibility of proving biographical data – and in order not to have the power of transformation, staging, fictionalisation or poem literary power – would it not be ideal to interpret the work without such inputs? Fiction, reality, increasingly together, in the lack of truths and illusions.
