Abstract
Between 2009 and 2011, under the leadership of Professors Rolf Loeber from Psychiatry Department at Pittsburgh University and David Farrington from Cambridge University Criminology Institute, and on behalf of the US Government’s National Institute of Justice (NIJ), a comprehensive research project entitled Transitions from juvenile delinquency to adult criminality has been developed. The aim of this project, which was attended by an extensive international study group of 33 American and European professors and researchers, was to review and integrate the scientific knowledge available on the major criminological problem of the development of criminal careers between the stages of youth and adulthood.
