Abstract
Newspapers, magazines and television in particular highlighted the celebrations around the 60th anniversary of the crown of Queen Elisabeth II of England, repeating the coverage recently given to the marriage of Prince William with Kate Middleton today, Duquesa of Cambridge. This fascination of the mid around the spotlight leads us to reflect on what the projection of their representations and symbolism in contemporaneity, in a mydiatic context every day, is quicker and filled with information. After all, why the monarchy, such an ancient institution, is still able to produce speeches, meanings and remits, capable of attracting millions of attentive readers and viewers today? It is on that subject that I want to have this work on the basis of the origins of the symbolic power of the monarchy and, in particular, of the British emphasis, as well as the elements of popular culture that are added to the construction of that imaginary and the production of feelings in journalistic narratives.
